And by sweet ride, I mean I totally wish I was one of those high school girls. My first car was a Volvo 144 four-door sedan, in lackluster blue. It whistled like a teapot. The gearshift was like eighteen inches long, with a fat knob a the end. I never got laid in it. Damn, Mr. Erth – That sounds like a sweet ride. Now I know that doesn't sound all that sexy, BUT... I stuffed a corvette motor in it with a four speed Hurst and posi-rear. Then I glued a brilliant blue shag carpet all through the back (leaving the back seat always down), threw in a few fuzzy pillows adn outfitted the car with bookshelf speakers from the house. For most high school girls, I was the guy their dad warned them about. For a select few lucky ladies... I was one helluva a great date! My first car was a 63′ Chevy station wagon.
